Press Release from CCN Cycle Component Network Inc

WinterBike 2011-Febuary 3rd
Inaugural WinterBike gather to be held in Vancouver

(January 26th, North Vancouver) Over a couple of beers in the fall of 2010, a group of us came up with a great idea. This idea survived the test of the next morning and WinterBike was born. We realized that British Columbia is home to some of the best cycling in the world and is an important industry in terms of job creation, fun, friendships and way of life. However, there was no venue for the different stakeholders in the community to come together in an informal way during the off-season.

On February 3rd, 2011, the first WinterBike will take place in downtown Vancouver. Attending will be bike shops, event organizers, advocacy groups, suppliers, manufacturers, media, charities and others connected with making the cycling community in B.C. what it is..

As an invite only affair, many of the local cycling community will be there. There will be announcements and breaking news, as well as a host of great prizes. In putting on this event for the first time, CCN is truly grateful to the founding sponsors; Canawraps, GranFondo Canada, BC Bike Race, World Mountain Bike Conference, Trips for Kids Vancouver, the Vancouver Bike Show and the Western Canada Mountain Bike Tourism Association.

With Dave Norona and Brett Tippie on the mic, the night promises to be a great one with a fantastic local band as well. We’re sure new friends will be made and our hope is that this serves as an opportunity for members of the cycling community to come together and make new acquaintances A report will be posted after the event on the new CCN website….CCNBikes.com. If you are connected with the cycling community and feel you would like to attend or sponsor this event, please contact Phil Mowatt at info@WinterBike.com
