NAIAS with Jeep: A Reflection

It’s been a couple of months since the trip to Detroit to the North American International Auto Show with Jeep and it still brings back good memories. I’ve owned Jeep Wranglers for the past 15 years (I’m currently driving a 1989 Jeep YJ) and between my parent’s and myself, my family has owned seven Jeep brand vehicles. It was a definitely a treat to get a chance to look at their newest models.

However, we did more than just look at Jeep brand vehicles, we also had a chance to check out the rest of the North American International Auto Show and see some beautiful cars. I’m still trying to figure out where I can put a bike rack on this one:

I even managed to find a few bikes!

But the highlight of NAIAS for me was the chance to attend closed media events like the press conference with Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Chrysler LLC:

And a private function put on by Chrysler:

On our second day we were given a very unique opportunity of being able to do a walk around with Jim Morrison, Director of Jeep Brand Marketing, who explained the latest features of each vehicle with us:

I was paired with Anton and we did a walk around of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Gorgeous vehicle. We were also blessed with a surprise preview of the interior with Klaus Busse, Head of Interior Design:

And I’ll confess that I’m not used to being in front of the camera unless I’m on my bike, I’m more comfortable hiding behind a computer screen editing videos or writing blog posts. Definitely a new experience for me and I’ll admit I had stage fright. BAD stage fright. Kudos to the person who edited this video! If memory serves I had the deer-in-the-headlight look for most of it.

Then it was Jeep’s turn to interview us… You can find their interview here.

It was a fantastic experience and I am truly honoured to have been chosen. Thank you for such an awesome experience, Jeep!

There is one problem though…

Now I want one a new one of these:

Great work Teresa, the stage fright doesn’t come over at all. As much as the luxury models are beautiful, I’m with you on the Wrangler - just throw the bikes on, jump in and get out there. Brilliant.
