Winter Riding in Cumberland

After riding in Idaho and Montana last summer, I can see why they close some of their trails when it rains. We’re lucky here in Cumberland since most of our trails are rideable year round, however there are some trails that need some TLC during the rainy season.

Stolen MTB in Courtenay!

This is my friend Pascale’s bike that was stolen last night. She’s devastated! She’s a single mom and can’t afford to replace it so I’m hoping it turns up. Unfortunately it sounds like she was targeted. It was stolen near Home Depot on Ryan Road in Courtenay the evening of November 3rd from her garage. [...]

Okay, I’ll admit it… I’ve been spending a lot of time on the couch lately with the cold weather, but I have managed to get out on weekly rides. I might have sat out last week’s ride until news came that logging was about to start on the Lower Cumberland trails once again. After hearing [...]

Wet, muddy, and dark…

That pretty much sums up our ride tonight! We don’t know what it is, but Isabelle and I are absolutely addicted to night riding. We’re not sure if it just puts a new spin on old trails, or having the trails to ourselves? Either way, we think we may have our friend, JF, addicted as [...]

You know you’ve had a good week…

…when you go to do your laundry and it’s almost all mountain biking gear! I ride between 3-5 times a week but this week was an excellent one for me.  Last April I suffered an avulsion fracture to my right ankle, along with some other soft tissue damage, and this week is the first week [...]
